Accommodating the needs of Burnley College
We were appointed to assist the College with the formulation and implementation of a wide-ranging accommodation strategy.
In general our ongoing programme provided: design, contract administration and building services, engineering of various projects to accommodate estate rationalisation, building and services element upgrades, accommodation remodelling and extension and new build projects.
More specific services included: Survey/Defects Diagnosis, Architectural Design, Building Services Design, Quantity Surveying and Structural Engineering Services.
All outside contracts were procured competitively and were administered under the JCT family of contracts.
Because of the quality of our service and our attention to detail, we have formed a lasting relationship with Burnley College and are currently employed to provide multi-disciplinary services on ad-hoc projects on a call-off basis. The value of works completed totals £4.0 million.
- Repair and alteration to a Grade II Listed Building.
- Remodelling/upgrade to general teaching areas.
- The provision of a new 2500 M2 Learning Resource Centre, incorporating Youth Training areas and classrooms.
- Over roofing and remodelling to provide laboratory accommodation.
- Toilet accommodation upgrades.
- Upgrade/renewal of heating systems.
- Renewal of drainage system.
